Railway ticket cancellation.

Should Indian Railways open more ticket counters (reserved and unreserved) in dense residential areas to avoid crowd at their small reservation centres at railway stations?

• Large cities have residential areas spread across the city but hardly has 2 reservation centres; one at the station. As a result, we find crowd at the reservation centre at the railway station and at unreserved ticket counters. why not have plenty of railway ticket counters in residential areas so that people do not assemble at the railway station for getting a ticket?

• Answer:

  Recently I went to Haryana.  There I found that unreserved tickets can be purchased at private shops by paying 1 Re extra.  I liked the concept.  You can buy the ticket at those counter to reduce the queue at the railway station.  Also in Hyderabad, there are additional railway counters at places which are far from railway station  Though I would not encourage opening of reservation counter to private parties as it may lead to cornering of few prized tatkal tickets.
