How to update website's content?

Content Management: For community websites and blogs, what is a good percentage split between original content versus "borrowed" content from other blogs and websites? Are there any legal (copyright) issues if we just share others content (with source quoted)? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

  • Answer:

Google doesn't like duplicate content. They may not penalize you but if there are two identical answers to a search query then Google will choose the most relevant website. Otherwise the whole first page of results could have the exact same article. It would be better to create a new version of the article, if you don't have the time or patience to do a re-write then you have a tool here that will do that for you. http://bit.ly/17o3alH I would suggest that after you have wrangled the article you change it a little more as it is very important not to copy the article. Even after changing the article it would still be a good idea to give the original writer credit in some way. You could say something like...information from an article by Joe Blogs fromĀ  Joe http://Blogs.com.
