Which bike would be best for a Ladakh trip?

If you're planning a bike trip to ladakh, what is the time period and the monetary budget (not lavish) one should have in mind to be able to enjoy the nature?

  • Answer:

15 Days is a bare minimum to be able to experience laddakh. The good thing is if you go on a bike one doesn't have to waste an extra day to acclamatise. As far as the budget goes stay and food is really inexpensive and you get to meet some really nice people so stop worrying about the monetary aspect as you can always make up for it in coming years :)

You need a minimum of 10 leisurely days on the road if you're taking the Manali Leh road. A http://www.ixigo.com/manali-to-leh-the-annual-bikers-pilgrimage-story-1101678 can be unpredictable so you need ample time in hand. As for the budget, staying is cheaper at Leh as there are many budget places and homestays that you can choose from.  You got to add up fuel costs and places where you will be staying on the road. I'll put it to not more than 30000, however posh you choose this bike trip to be. Please keep in mind that you'll have to buy much of the biking accessories that can cost a bomb.

We did this ride, 2 couples. Our costs came to around 50k per couple. We opted for some better stay options than the cheapest ones available. If you are a group of guys, riding pillions, then I think you can manage in around 20K for 15 days, starting from Jammu and ending at Chandigarh.
