Which career is the best for an introvert?

I can't find the right career, which is upsetting me. I'm a 25 year old introvert with too many interests and yet too much ambition. What do I do?

  • I am surrounded by uninspiring people and environments. I can't find anyone like me (INTJ). I'm an introvert which makes it very difficult to adapt to change and I also have a very tough time explaining my emotions that I can't even confide in my own parents. I'm 25, introverted and insecure. I have a 1st class degree from a mediocre university (top 40 UK). I want to work for the best but I am not good enough. I hardly talk because I think I have a lot of wisdom which leads to indecisiveness but really I think it's insecurity. I don't talk to others about my ambitions because they will not understand someone like me. They work the 9-5 but I want much more than that. I'm very passionate and I would choose job satisfaction over money any day.  I'm a designer/developer who wants to create a startup and I end up sleeping late because I can't stop thinking about it. I can create it myself but I can't start it because something is holding me back. This leads me to apply for jobs that are within my field but they end up being shit jobs well below my level (repetitive copy and pasting). I can't thrive there but I am intimidated by people saying you have a lack of experience. I apply for jobs because of pressure from my parents. I know I can do better. I hate the corporate world as they appreciate cupcakes more than design. How do I find my path when I'm striving for greatness in a mediocre world? EDIT: Thank you guys so much for your insightful answers. Because of you lot I've decided to pursue my dream and begin working on my startup. I just had to take the plunge, procrastinating over it is what was upsetting me. It's going to be tough I know, but whether I succeed or fail it will still be a learning experience. It's amazing and humbling to read your answers and it helps getting opinions from different perspectives. So thank you all again.
