I enjoy read text as a lector. What books would people listen to?
-
I love read text as a lector. For fun and practice. I would love to start YouTube or SoundCloud channel (or somewhere else?) just to read for people. Just to give them something that they would like to listen. Language: Polish, but I think it doesn't matters in this case. Any ideas about what could I read, that people would like to listen? :) What would YOU like to listen to? Anythind related to work, study... or free time?

Answer:
Read the Sunday Missal for each week. It sounds simple but there are many lectors (my wife is one) who need to go online and hear someone else pronounce some of the proper nouns in the gospels.

I do a lot of reading. I am a volunteer for an organization called Learning Ally and we produce audio products for blind and dyslexic end users. I read technical books, mostly math, physics engineering. See if you can volunteer to be a reader for such an organization. It will give you plenty of practice and challenge in reading.

I love to read fiction. And I pick best sellers at CostCo, if you have anything like it in your country. If you pick best selling books in paperback, then you know they were best sellers and are good books.. If it says bestselling author, you know that book did not make it to the best seller list. My favorite author is Harlan Coben. This answer is not a substitute for professional medical advic...

Similar to Kavinay Kishor's answer, I think that prayers in any language sound nice. Also, poetry read aloud is fun to hear and much different from reading it yourself.

See it depends for whom you are reading. If its for blind or dyslexic people the best pick will be motivational biographies and self help book. By reading this book you will improve your reading skills as you will have to emphasize on important events in a person's life/a particular quote/the events which made him a part of history. By reading these books you will be motivating those people and also you yourself will be exposed to lives of successful people. http://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/motivational

For tech related stuff, you could read a random post from Hacker News, something that affects lots of technology users or that is some niche area. For Music, some nice articles from Rolling Stones or Rock Street Journal would be fabulous. For leisure listening, you could read articles from the Times or Wall Street Journal. Having variety and a fixed schedule for the posts would be the deal-maker. All the best in your endeavor!!
