• Can I get a new Bell Samsung Galaxy S4 and root/unlock it? (& should I?) My unlocked, rooted Samsung Galaxy S2 (from Bell) seems to have bitten the dust. I think I'd like to get a new Samsung Galaxy S4. I generally like to have an unlocked phone. I live in Canada, and travel to the US periodically, and when I'm there I take out my Bell SIM and put in a T-Mobile SIM. Because I live in Canada, I don't think I have the option of easily buying the new Google Samsung Galaxy S4, which would be an appealing option (mainly for being unlocked, although the possibility of having a "clean" version of Android sounds nice..). So... my main Q's are: - Is it possible to get a Samsung Galaxy S4 from bell and root/unlock it? This is what I did with my S2, but I'm finding it hard to find current information on the S4. - If it is possible: Could anyone link me to reliable, clear information on how to do this? I've looked all over, and find the information out there very confusing. Some extra q's are: - If I do get a SGS4, is it possible to get it to a state so it is effectively the same as the Google SGS4? Is that a something others would recommend? - Alternately - is it possible to unlock the phone without rooting it? For me: Unlocking the phone is critical, rooting it is less so... Thanks!!

  Well, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252248 was shown to be an effective root for the Galaxy S4 - This thread goes over the details. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283068 goes over the SIM unlock method, which you want to do on the stock ROM. It apparently doesn't require root, and has worked for at least some overseas carrier phones, but I did not see Bell mentioned specifically. Good luck!
