Looking for PDF signature and watermark programs
-
What are some good programs that can add a digital signature and/or a watermark to existing PDFs? We're all using Windows 7 computers at work. My office is trying to shift towards digital signatures, as we currently have a slightly convoluted process. We currently get PDFs by email and print them or receive hardcopies by mail, then stamp the invoice as received. Upon reviewing and approving the invoice, we then stamp the invoice as accurate to the best of our knowledge. Both stamps are signed and dated by hand. Then we scan the twice-stamped and signed document to keep for our archives, and we pass the paper copy on to another department, where it is again scanned and turned into a PDF. Is there a simple program that can insert stamps and dates into the "pages" of PDFs? Bonus points for freeware and things that don't require admin rights to install on Windows 7 computers. We'd get approval to run this software from management, but getting IT to install software can sometimes take a while.

Answer:
Use the built in Sign feature in Adobe Reader XI. It will let you import an image as a signature. All you'll need is a image file (.jpg, .png, etc.) of the stamps and signatures. It's a little clunky as it wants to use the same image as the signature every time. But it works.

Nitro Pro. You can create stamps with your own text (with or without date and time) and use their QuickSign for signatures. Not freeware, don't know about admin rights.

Web-based: http://www.pdffiller.com/ May be more time-consuming than you're looking for, though.

+1 Nitro. http://www.nitroreader.com/ (free) will allow for signing. You could easily create a stamp image and upload it as a "signature."

Thanks! There are portable versions of Nitro Reader and Foxit Reader, which I'll check out tonight.

Also, I'm hesitant to upload any work documents to a 3rd party site.

Actually, you can both insert an image as a signature AND insert free text in Adobe Reader X and above. I tried it out, and it works like a charm, thanks!

And you can insert multiple images, if you have a blank stamp and a signature to insert. It's kludgy, as you have click the button that you're done signing, then clear the signature image, then add another signature image. Conversely, you can add free text all over the place. Also of note: Adobe Reader X only imports black/greyscale text, so if you think you're crafty and try to import a fancy colored image, the program will convert the image to greyscale.
