In 47 states, there are no legal qualifications to practice interior design or call yourself an interior designer. Only Florida, Nevada and Lousiana limit the practice of interior design to only those who have a combination of 6 years education and experience plus have passed the NCIDQ. (Note: Florida law is currently being challenged in the 11th US Circuit Court of Appeals).
