Who are the members of the civil service?

Should men who play football, box, or serve as infantry service members be called men, and come up with some other word for humans with

  • penises who don't partake of those activities?

  • Answer:

You seem to be emphasizing a high level of social control over men (in particular using a methodology of shame), and although it would be nice to see the men in our society regain their backbones, I can't say I much support this approach. OTOH I could probably support one or two years of mandatory military service for all able-bodied men starting at age eighteen (maybe even sixteen). It would produce the same result but without generating a nasty social environment. Do you have any suggestion in mind to shame out of existence women who are mannish, arrogant, butt-kicking, feisty, loud, and androgynous, by calling only feminine women 'women', and using a different name for all the rest? Or are you one of those types who just wants to keep men on a short chain-link leash while letting women run free?

A man biologically would have every aspect that a man has. A man in society only has to look like a man with a penis (encompasses transmen). A man in certain societies are men that stand up for themselves, are stoic, strong, loving, patriotic, sensible, helps others, morally good (in a sense that they try to do the right thing...and what is "right" can be debated but let's not do this..) ect. My definition of a man encompasses the first, the last, and a few other add-ons as well. But any man should be free to (NOT) do those activities without being harassed. In my opinion. So no.

I'm a retired man who boxed as a kid at my local Boy's Club, played varsity football as a starter when I was in school, and served honorable in the U.S. Air Force. I know know plenty of men who have not done those things but who are far from being wimps.

Nothing wrong with soccer as i play it and watch it and i'm a girl lol. I also practised Tae Kwondo when i was younger which included boxing. You seem to be following the urban myth of stereotype lol.

No. The ones you describe are jocks, a subset of men.
