How does bug repellent work?

Ever notice how when something doesn't work on the web developers just call it a "little bug"?

I think you have to understand the nature of web development to know why this is called "a bug". From my experience with coding, there tends to be a simple solution to problems. Programming requires a bit of debugging, and sometimes what may seem like a complicated problem, turns out to be a simple fix. In code there are times in which monumental problems can be solved by moving one simple piece of code or adding a piece of code which ends up fixing the problem. The term "bug" is used just to show that not every programming issue is as complicated as it might seem.

"bug" is just a euphemism for an error. it distinguishes an error that the program has that just makes it not work as intended from other kinds of errors that cause the program to halt (or never halt, depending on the circumstances).
