Many people say that if they won a lot of money, they'd make donations "to charity." If you did that, what charities would you choose?

I was asking myself that question just last night, depends on how much money I came into but I would like to donate something somewhere, probably to a legit charity for abused/abandoned kids.

Probaly cancer research.

Charity to neuter/spay feral cats Scholarships to private schools for poor kids 'micro loans' to people in 3rd world countries

Charities that provided for children and older adults in need, as well as animals.

I'd choose any one that helped children (often the victims of errant parents) or animals. Neither group has as much ability to change their situation as a grown adult does.

Just to charities to help animals. People already have to much help; that's why the world is going down the tubes. But if I won a bunch of money I'd start an organization to promote earth-sheltered homes. Not for it to be a charity, but because if people could get past needing the outsides of their houses to look a certain way, live could be a lot less expensive for everyone.

I'd go to foreign countries where real need is needed by desperately poor people and try to ease their pain in person, one needy person, one needy family at a time.
