Why do gerbils' nose bleeds?

Don't worry, it's nose isn't really bleeding. Gerbils' snot and "eye boogers" are red, so it just looks like blood. Your gerbil just has a cold, and his nose is running. This happened to my gerbils last year, and they were fine.
