In Canada would I be able to use my Student Card as valid ID?

Does name on card have to match name on student id?

• Ok so I was wanting to buy Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium for my girlfriend but I would like to be able to use her student id to get the student discount. She will be the one using it and is ok with me using her id. I will just be the one paying for it. So does the name on the credit card I use to buy it have to be the same as the name on the student id?

  The only way to find out is to try it but I'd imagine it might be fine. After all, I'm sure some parents put up the funds for their student son/daughter to buy that item; if the discount's given in that situation, it should work in yours. However, to give it a greater chance of working, perhaps your girlfriend should go with you and actually be the one who approaches the register while you stand by until they ask how she wants to pay. Then all she has to do is tell them "he's buying it for me" and wait for you to step in!
