TN small government/no regulation Republicans pass “Gateway Sexual Activity” law. Do we need laws to regulate hugs or industry?

The state has passed a long-mocked bill allowing parents to sue teachers and other outside parties for “promoting or condoning ‘gateway sexual activity’ by students.” The controversial measure is intended to curb teen pregnancy and is an offshoot of the state’s growing abstinence-based sex education program. At the heart of the matter, most of the controversy stems from the “gateway sexual activity” line, which remains vague and was not clearly defined before the bill went to vote. Some detractors argue that it could unreasonably punish teachers for allowing students to cuddle, hold hands or even hug, whether in the halls between classes or at a school dance. Answer:
Where did you get the idea that Republicans are "small government" and "no regulation"? This seems to be a misrepresentation of the republican position. This law (by the way) is utterly unsurprising, and completely ridiculous.

Today in my school a bunch of signs were put up about this law and i cant say there was a single student not making fun of it and saying it cant be enforced not only that but just about everyone ive talked to or heard talking about it say its only going to make things worse cuz now there will be teens doing it on purpose. i mean cuddling i can understand why they shouldnt allow it in school but hugging and holding hands isnt going to increase sexual activity

Hello W: It's true. Holding hands leads to sex. Personally, once I get a chicks hand in mine, I'm IN! If they want to STOP sex, banning hand holding is the place to start. Republicans are SOOOO smart... Snicker... snicker... excon PS> I wonder if hitting your brother is a gateway to murder. I think it IS. Did you ever hit your brother???

If its in their power to pass laws against things that don't hurt others, then they will use that power in any idiotic way they can think of.
