What would you do if your school, workplace, or a place you go to regularly (i.e. a shopping mall) had a mass shooting?

Edit I ask this in the wake of the shooting in Colorado early this morning at a theater that was playing The Dark Knight Rises (please keep the victims and their loved ones in your thoughts). Would you refuse to come back to such a place? I have to say I would because I don't want to be reminded of such a heinous crime. I wouldn't be uncomfortable being there if it happened before I went to that place; I would only be uncomfortable if I was there at time of the shooting/any time before the shooting

    I use my training to the best of my ability to stop the threat. While the sheep are all running from the wolf, I , the sheep dog protect the sheep.

Stay low, then try to get behind the shooter, and cut his head off (since I no longer carry a gun regularly). People who do that $#!t p!$$ me off, and I have no desire to live forever. I will either own the situation or die. I will not live the rest of my life wishing I'd done something differently.

I agree that it'd be hard to return to a place this happened at if it happened to me.. I don't know what I would do, probably duck and wait for it to be over. My heart goes out to the victims and their families in this shooting..

If I wasn't hit by gunfire, I'd probably stay as close to "the action" as possible, for two reasons: 1. To try to assist the wounded, and, 2. To serve as a WITNESS, to later on offer court testimony. I've had police training in observational techniques, and in how to "remain calm" in a crisis situation. If you have NOT had similar training or experience, you should NOT do what I have described. You should instead try to leave the scene as quickly as possible, saving yourself and those you love.
