Which movie was Jean Stapleton AKA Edith Bunker starring in?

Jean Stapleton has passed away. What did you think of her? Obviously she was an accomplished actress and an eclectic woman.

  • But neither her nor Carol O'Connor would ever discuss their most famous roles by far, Archie and Edith Bunker. And heaven forbid that they would ever do the voices of Edith and Archie when interviewed. That infuriated me. They obviously had no sense of humor and no appreciation of the magnitude of those characters in television history and the loyal audience that enjoyed them so much. What do you think?

    Makes me nostalgic for the 70's. You know, I keep trying to remember what life was like before the arrival of the internet, e-mail, cellphones and the other technology and I can't. Scary. Jean Stapleton was one of my favourite TV actresses, BTW. I loved seeing her on Everybody Loves Raymond.

She had a "good innings"...and a good life. It's always sad when somebody passes, but at least she didn't die young.

It was sad news. I admit that I associate her more with Archie Bunker than anything else. I think she was a great actress and her having passed away is a significant loss to the fellowship of actors and to those of us who enjoyed her through the years. "Gee that old LaSalle ran great!"

she had a successful career and croaked at 90 - can't say she died too young !

Sad news. She gave me hours of pleasure watching her on "All in the Family"...I will miss her, but she was 90...and 90 is a good life lived.
