What is the Australian government doing about alcohol addiction?

Why do the government only go after people buying untaxed or undertaxed Cigarettes but not Alcohol or Gasoline or any other taxed products?

• Theres people that drive to states such as New Hampshire where theres no tax on alcohol in large amounts and take it back home since they cant afford it in their state. Why dont they have to pay the alcohol tax in their home state? What about people that drive to Mexico or New Jersey to save money on gas? Should they have to pay whatever the gas tax is in the state they live in when they get home? Why does the Government want to force people that want to save money on cigarettes like the people that buy them in Indian Reservations or cheaper states with a lower tax to pay the stupid tax and not other taxed items? You cant buy cigarettes off the internet anymore cause the government says they losing tax money from that. But you can still buy alcohol off the internet tax free with no limit! The IRS never mails letters to drinkers for buying untaxed alcohol. Why should anyone that already bought things they want some where be forced to pay a tax on it when they bring it back home when they already paid for it? Shouldnt whatever tax thats placed on any particular item be paid in where ever it is and not have to pay a tax again when taking whatever that item is home? Its not fair! Why dont they do something like have the states compete or something? I hate this criminal government!

  Having states compete? Government loves monopolies, so that ain't gonna happen. I don't know why they get so hung up over cigarettes. Around here people go to jail for buying tax free cigarettes from the natives. Beat the shit out of someone and you get 5 months probation... do something horrible like buy cigarettes for a cheaper price and you go to jail. The government is far more interested in protecting its self than any of us.
