How much work is out there for a computer scientist?

We're seeing alot of Mall type shootings, why don't Computer/Engineer scientist work on technology to Disabled Guns?

  • Some kind of laser thing that flows through public places like Malls, that will disable any firing or dynamite or stuff that guns do Through some CHemical or Magnetic process. There's tons of gangsters outthere and criminals with guns and they could do this kind of shottoings daily. for some reason they just do it sometimes but they could if they got brave enough, do it often in many parts of the usa.

    A gun is a purely mechanical device . So I doubt if you could disable it with an electronic device.

and while we are at it lets make a intelligent laser which enforces laws all on it's own as well. you are confusing the power of technology with magic. the only way for a laser to influence a gun is for it to melt it. you wanna take a guess at how easy it is to aim such a laser? here is a hint.... they don't aim them, they move the target to where the laser is already pointing.
