    Hmmm, according to Wikipedia, this is newly created honor which was first presented to people in 2012 (i.e. last year). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli_Medal_of_Distinction Then there is this: "The President’s Award is an award conferred by the President of the State of Israel on individuals... "The object of the award is to enable the President of Israel to express his appreciation and esteem to deserving individuals..." http://www.president.gov.il/English/About/Pages/presidentawardofdistinction.aspx Yes, the page goes on to say that the President of Israel is aided in this by an advisory committee. However, it is apparently, ultimately up to the President to decide who gets the honor. So, let us take a look at the situation. We have a leftist President of Israel presenting a leftist President of the US an award despite the fact that only 10% of the people of Israel approve of Obama. http://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2013/03/20/obamas-middle-east-policy-in-tatters-column/2004343/ Thus, what we have here seems to be something as meaningless as Obama being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize despite the fact that all he had really done to get nominated for it was to get elected President of the US.

Unless you spoke to Peres personally, how can you ask such a ridiculous question? Every news station is biased and has their own agenda. The majority of US news stations are left wing and Fox is the ONLY right wing.

Are you aware that Israelis are burning pictures of Obama right? Or did CNN forget to report that?

Obama has a big wall in his future library that he needs to fill. He will put this award down on the bottom, in the back. Israel knows what it has to do to placate the emperor.

It depends on your beliefs....and I tend to think FOX is as corrupt as any news station out there. I listened to a broadcast and found a slew of things wrong with it. I honestly have no idea why people seem to HATE him so much. When asked, some of their thoughts are based on PRIVATE matters that, if their privacy was infringed on as such, they'd cry about. Oh well.
