Are chemicals good or bad?

Does anyone have good or bad stories of dieticians? I find that they really do much more good than doctors that only push chemicals.

  • had it not been for a nurse who told me that they are the ones to listen to about type 1 diabetes, I don't think I would have made it this far. a far too highly neglected part of the medical industry.

  • Answer:

Doctors are typically very busy people. Many don't appreciate how much goes on " behind the scene " in terms of making reports, updating charts, writing letters, etc etc. It's not that they don't care, and if you find you have a doctor just " pushing chemicals " at you, change doctors! Educate yourself. You now live in a world with information at your fingertips. If someone suggests a fad diet, something radical, or highly restrictive, watch out. The key to good eating is eat everything good! and anything bad in moderation. Meat and protein feed your brain and muscles. Fresh veggies provide much needed vitamins. Condiments like vinegars, chutneys, relishes, and those that are or are made from herbs and roots ( onions, horseradish, mustard ) are great in abundance. Sugar is deadly if over consumed. Fruit - especially dried fruit = concentrated sugar. Soda, candy, and pastries are obvious bad-guys, but so are lots of packaged foods you wouldn't expect. Read the label. Again, it all comes back to self-interest and self-education.
