What's your reaction to the news that the Sikh temple shooter was a decorated Army veteran on a hate group watchlist for 10 years?

    This sounds like a case of "we didn't think that it could happen". Basically law enforcement took it for granted that something of this magnitude could happen. No one thought that this individual would dare to open fire at a Sikh temple. In fact, this was probably the furthest from anyone's mind. I think this is a classic case of not realizing the threat, and merely ignoring the possibility that something like this could happen. The fact that he was on a hate group watchlist says that he was capable of doing such an attrocity. I believe he should have been monitored closely, but unfortunately the law enforcement that was responsible, became cavalier and they allowed him to walk away uninhibited.

You're walking on dangerous ground, Wynper. Are you going to start telling people what they're allowed to do because you think that it might lead to something else? He was on a watch list that SPLC had. So what? Did he break any laws beforehand? You can't kick him out because you don't like what he does on his off-time. There are more gang members coming out of the military than supremacists. Any plans on taking care of that little issue, or just deal with the white folks? How would you feel if people were following around the blacks and hispanics to see if they were talking to the criminal gangs?

I was not surprised, its people like him on the 'lunatic fringe' that tend to do this more often than others, racism..well yes that's what these white pride kkk type right wing extremists are all about. The problem with this is that both law enforcement and even the gov't are caught off-guard with these folks, seems there is little one can do, cuz we can't predict the future. Though closer monitoring of extremists could be more helpful.
