Two AB members say background checks already exist at gun shows/online. Then Congress/the Prez/Sandy Hook parents didn't know that? Why?

Answer:
Those members know damned well they are bending the truth....no...they know they are lying. http://www.armslist.com/ allows anyone to buy a gun without a background check. Oh sure...they have some language that dresses up the site to make it appear that transactions are legal but the NYPD found in an undercover investigation that 3/4 of the sellers they contacted said they would be willing to sell to people who couldn't pass a background check. In fact, sales occur there with no background checks at all. Gun show sales have background checks? Sure...with all sorts of ways to dance around them. I know, I've bought guns in past year from shows without a check. It's a joke...a bad one at that. Here's the language on the armslist site. They facilitate an end around background checks and they know it. So do buyers and sellers on the site. So do those two AB members. Shame on them for denying it. That's because they lied. I'm calling them out! LIARS, LIARS, PANTS ON FIRE! Here is the scoop, Rosie. 1. Gun shows have what you call the Gun Show Loophole. They have been advocated by terrorists like Al-Queda Adam Gadahn. He was on the FBIs Most Wanted List for treason. 2. Since the year 2000, gun shows have become controversial. They have been accused of being a primary source of illegally trafficking of firearms, both in the US and abroad. 3. Are gun sellers required to have background checks? The only ones required are those who "are engaged in the interstate firearm commerce or those in the gun business". They are required to hold a Federal Firearms License and perform background checks before the transfer of arms. 4. What about the rest of the sellers? The are private gun owners or collectors. They are "under no requirement to conduct background checks OR maintain records of sales. However, if those gun sellers have any reason to believe the buyer is a felon or otherwise prohibited from purchasing firearms, they are forbidden to sell to those. But how would they know? That's a stupid rule or law! 5. Why do you think Gun Shows are so popular? There are new guns at stores available already. 6. I end with a quote by the terrorist Adam Gadahn, "You can go down to a gun show at a local convention center and come away with a fully automatic assault rifle, without a background check, and most likely without having to show an identification card." 7. Gadahn urged Western extremists to follow his path. But he is dead now! So it isn't a good path! Source: Wikipedia. 8. Add: I see only 7 states require all gun shows to have background checks.

Mmm… I think you’re getting a bit fuzzy here, Rosie. Saying that background checks exist at guns shows is kind of a blanket statement, and quite vague. Background checks exist at guns shows to the same degree that they exist outside of gun shows. Does that make sense? All FFL dealers are required by federal law to perform a background check for each and every gun sale they make. FFL dealers are also subject to audits and full-on inspections of their premises, sales logs and inventory, at any time. I know three people personally who have their FFL. The ones who sell exclusively at shows and store their inventory in their home are even required to provide detailed maps and drawings of their homes, indicating where firearms are stored, and are subject to home in sections. These laws transcend the internet and gun shows. It doesn’t matter where a gun is being sold, the law remains the same. Civilians are not held to this same standard, and private citizens can buy and sell guns between them without a background check. This remains true whether the gun is sold on the internet, at a gun show, or out of their home. It doesn’t matter where a gun is being sold, the law remains the same. Because of this fact, that the laws remain the same no matter if the sale happens at a gun show or not, the “gun show loophole” idea is a fallacy. It doesn’t exist. The laws are the same whether you're at a gun show or not. (Haven’t we been over this already?) I find it most interesting that democrats from Arkansas, Montana, North Dakota, Alaska, and even Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid voted against the bill in question…

Hello Rosie; Why isn't that bit of knowledge known by the president??? Uhhhh, cause it's a right wing lie???? The only way they could have defeated the gun bill is to LIE their heads off - and that's what they DID. excon

A lot more background checks are supposed to happen online then actually do happen. Some of what happens online is 110% illegal. More laws won't fix that.

Any gun purchased from a dealer are checked. The private gun sales are not checked. This is the supposed "gun show loophole". If my husband passes his guns down to his kids, there is no check. Under the bill that just failed, the saler would have had to go to a dealer and pay the dealer perform a check. And my husband would have to pay a dealer to run a background check on our kids. If the dealer is online or at a gun show then yes he legally has to perform a background check. Now if I (as a private person not a dealer) have some guns I do not want anymore, I can go in craiglist etc and sale my guns without running a check. Same if I go to a gun show I can make a private sale and not run a check on the buyer. Because I am not a dealer.

YES even at gun shows a Licensed dealer runs a background so what if some enemies know how easy it is to get a gun they are going to get them anyways and since no one wants to hit them where they really live to teach them a lesson it's just going to get worse since there is just a lot of money to be made making "ISSUES" out of "NON ISSUES" and Social Manipulation" is a key factor in terrorism and the religious plots that are on going... Criminality hiding behind religious belief is NOT Protected nor was it ever intended to be, you want to practice that form then return to where it belongs and practice it just NOT HERE... ~Nemo~
