what the F good is a time warner cable DVR if it won't record the special shows you wanted to see?

few days ago i tried to DVR the miss universe pagent so i could see it when i got home from work, it didn't record saturday i tried to record the 50th anniversary episode of dr. who, again it didn't record (although it recorded the preshow and the other things set for that day. it just selectively fails to ignore the special events and shows you really wanted to see
