how much does it cost to take a cat with mange to the vet?wondering how much because i have to pay for it myself

It doesn't matter how much it costs you must take your cat in for a diagnosis and treatment as needed ,Explain to them your financial situation and ask if you can make payments. OR if you can't afford it, please turn you cat over to the shelter , they can treat the cat and find him a home with someone who can afford to pay vet bills. Bur either way you must take him in, with holding treatment is not only cruel but illegal Heck, sell something if you have to, but take care of your cat.

However much it costs, you have to do it. If it really is mange, that is a terrible terrible skin condition where the animals can itch themselves literally into insanity. It must be treated. Your vet will probably give you a product called Revolution that you drop on it's skin. If the Revolution is too expensive, message me and I'll tell you about a product called Ivomec that is highly effective against mange in cats, but cats are an off-lablel use so it must be done under the direction of your vet and not all vets are familiar with it.

orangesky -- all vets are familiar with ivomec but we don't use it on cats because it is highly dangerous -- and there are much better products than revolution for mange

I had this problem too and was told to use Ivomec, a very specific dose. Had to give same dose 3 times, each dose 10 days apart. Yes, highly dangerous I was told b/c overdose could be fatal but highly effective. What else could I have used?
