How do I get my product developed?

How do I get an adult product to market? I am a freelance inventor who has recently developed a new adult product.

  • I've been turned down by invention firms not because it lacks potential but because they don't assist with anything not "family oriented". I was told to go straight to the companies but it's rather difficult to find them. It's a well thought out and developed product and I have already built a functioning prototype, I just don't know who to sell the license to.

    Thanks! lol

Contact suppliers of adult products. Tell them about your product and ask their advice.

Wow... I am intrigued. I'd like to see what you're talking about...

Schelli

First, get it patented.

Thanks Schelli, I'm glad someone has a positive interest. Unfortunately, I can't provide any details as of yet without a non-disclosure agreement. But once it is sold there is almost always a Beta test before the product "hit's the shelves" just to work out any potential production bugs and get some feedback prior to market sales. I insist on such things. If you are interested in checking out the final before sale let me know and I'll see what I can do to get you a freebie.

You don't need a patent under a non-disclosure agreement. It protects people like me from theft while saving money and still getting the product sold. Made that mistake when I filed my first patent at 18. It turned out a month later with someone else's name on it. Not cool. Nothing I could do about it either. I had no real proof it was mine. Once a license agreement has been reached the buyer usually covers the cost of patent. Not many people know that. Wish someone had told me back then! Thanks!

Your problem is going to be that the large purveyors of adult products are not the producers of adult products.

gabrielhusseinnova

Yes, thats exactly what I've run into. Finding producers.

Find something else to do. Inventing, like acting, are things anybody can do, so there's a huge oversupply of actors and inventions. There isn't one "invention" in 100 that ever gets to production or has its rights assigned to anybody other than the inventor, according to the patent office. So don't think that a patent is a key to Fort Knox.

Ancient_Hacker

Your cynicism amuses me. I've been doing this for 20 years so this "ain't my first rodeo". I know well the statistics. I'm not one of them. I've never made a bad, non-selling product. I went to school for Business Management, Financing and Marketing. I've done everything from digging ditches to programing computers and all points in between. This is not some half-hearted get rich quick thing. It is a complete line of high end adult products. I don't even care about the money on the level of personal profit. So your "key to Fort Knox" theory is ridiculous at best. I invest 99% of total profits back into American business. The main stipulation in all my contracts is that my products be made only in America and be of the highest quality. This is merely my first time dealing with this particular industry so I was just seeing if anyone knew anything useful. But I'll let it slide.. you don't know me.Thanks!
