This is a relatively inexpensive house to build, as it is cheaper to build up, rather than out. It is after all, only a 2 bedroom, 1.5 baths, 1,300 sq ft flat roof house, with no basement or garage. It is however, a striking house, probably due to it being three stories high with a brick veneer and relatively large windows. Actually, the windows aren't really that large, it's just that the house is so narrow. It is an excellent use of land. Using the construction estimating software found on http://byoh.com and by changing the quality of various items, I estimated the cost to build this house, including brick veneer, permits, General Contractor fee, etc., but without any land cost, to be $154,524 in Chicago, IL, or $161,382 in San Francisco, CA.
