How to get Incredimail to send/receive?

Why can't I get gmail in Incredimail after configured?

• I used to get gmail in Incredimail. Then something happened and I lost it. Tried many times to configure it again but the "Account Wizard dialog" in Incredimail did not open. So the set up was never complete and I cannot get gmail in Incredimail.

  First of all, let me say that Incredimail is one of those (biting my tongue here) less than desirable programs that makes me pull my hair out. It is a resource hog that causes all sorts of problems on people's machines due to the silly animations and sounds that it uses for every blasted thing it does. It also is often a source of spyware, malware, and other maladies that infect and inhibit proper computer operation. All but one of my clients who has happened across Incredimail has removed it upon my advice. (The only one who hasn't actually paid for the software and says that she will never get rid of it because she loves the animations, yet she complains about the operation of her computer.) Anyway, presuming that you do not want to completely and totally dump Incredimail, the best option would probably be to remove it and try reinstalling it. However, before reinstalling it, you will probably need to find the location of the configuration and email files so that the work of reinstallation is wasted effort. You will need to delete those files because something in there has gone awry and it has caused problems with the operation of the program. Suffice it to say that the corruption has already caused any emails that you had saved to disappear. They are lost, gone, never to be seen again unless you left them on the Gmail server itself. If so, then when you reinstall and reconfigure the software (or, better yet, a better and more stable email client such as Mozilla Thunderbird), the emails will be redownloaded and available to you. Another thought that I just had, though, is that the size of your email database may be too large. I ran into this a few months ago with a client who was using Outlook Express on his work machine. He had saved so many emails that the database had reached its maximum size of 2 gigabytes in size. When it reached that enormous size, the program could no longer download and write anything to it. If you a large number of emails that you have saved (especially if they have attachments such as pictures, Incredimail animations, etc.), then you could be running into this issue as well. The solution in this case is to delete as many of the emails as possible so that the database is a reasonable size once again. I hope this helps.
