Wear neat, comfortable clothes, like khakis and a shirt, tucked in. Closed shoes: no flip-flops! No jeans. If you are female, you could wear a dress if you wanted to, or slacks. No 6" stacked high-heel shoes. Think about the way the Starbucks baristas dress: casual, comfortable, and neat. That's what you are shooting for. This is not an office job, so it is not necessary to dress up in office clothes, like a suit and tie. You can, if you want, and if you are comfortable being dressed that way, but otherwise, think about an outfit that will make you look like a pleasant or "nice" person. No T-shirts, very short skirts or clothes showing your waist/stomach, or just too much skin in general. This is not a club, and you are going for the "nice" look, not the "sexy" look. No extreme make-up or tons of jewelry. I hope this goes without saying, but you want to be clean with washed hair, brushed teeth, etc. And go really light on cologne or body wash or whatever, if you wear it at all. No one wants to hire a person who is drenched in after-shave or cologne. If you have an older sibling, parent, teacher or neighbor that you trust, ask them for help if you need to, and run the final outfit choice by that person. For the interview, be on time, or better yet, be early. Do your best to talk like an educated person: no slang, and for sure no cuss words. You will be representing the company, so you have to know how to present yourself to the public. Now that I have said all that, do the best you can to stay relaxed during the interview. Starbucks needs good people to work there, and you are a good person who wants to work, so go show them that! Let them know that you are reliable and dependable, and will work hard to learn whatever job they are hiring you for. Good luck! Katherine

Thanks A lot Katherine!!! You really did help me out a lot. I just hope that I get the job and make a good impression and that everything goes well!! Thanks Tinka!!

TonnaSTL

You are very welcome, Tinka! Just try to think about what the manager at a Starbucks wants to see and wants to hear, and do your best to present that to him or her. You are enthusiastic, and clearly want this job, which is also something employers like to see. :) I bet you will do just fine! When is your interview? If you can, come back here and post on how things went, OK? Take care, Katherine
