Does the tv reality show Pawn Stars Bald headed guy really know about all the history about all items come in store?
-
I know he calls in experts to verify if items are the real deal, Also prior to that the Bald headed Guy gives great detail about the so many various items from coin minting, to history on so many Items on just about everything one can imagine. So does the tv producers brife him on the history on the items for viewers interest, or does he really know as much on all the items that come in his Pawn Stars shop?

Answer:
He sure seems to know a lot of stuff, doesn't he? He mentions all the years of experience he has, and he must have a good memory. People with a love of history do a lot of reading and research. But then again, they can stop and start those cameras after looking up information. From Wikipedia: "Richard (Rick) Kevin Harrison– Co-founder/co-owner of the pawn shop. The son of "The Old Man" Richard and father of "Big Hoss" Corey, he has earned the nickname of "The Spotter" due to his sharp eye for valuable items. He started in the pawn business at age 13. Rick co-founded the "Gold & Silver" pawn shop with his father in 1988, at the age of 23. Boasting that "Gold & Silver" is the only family-owned pawn shop in Las Vegas, Rick says he dropped out of high school in the tenth grade because he was making $2,000 a week selling fake Gucci bags. An avid reader since childhood, his favorite area of historical study in is the British Navy, from the late 1700s to the early 1800s

Thank you for your reply *Poppet*, also even you find his vast knowledge on so many things lets say Questionable, But while I enjoy the show and interesting and all the different collectibles come in , It is no surprise his show is major hit, I just was hoping to get a answer if the shows director ,produces whatever Give him heads up on items coming in for this taping and some briefing on history of items for him to mention, After all He seems to know everything on just about every thing. I am sure all his expert buddy calls down to confirm item is the real thing, Don't just come down to the show because buddy's, But because they get a fee a very nice fee for doing so, after all they are providing a expert opinion. This is there lively hood, Next Question since first one no straight answer on my post, Imagine if I asked, Just how much does he get paid each show? Lol Bet it is like 30 to 50 K or around there if not more.

Yeah in basic gold and silver I would know and pay pabics going market price. There is another pawn shop show on tv in Chicargo the customers there are what typical pawn shops see flat screen tv, rings earring, pawn and or sell, this show of course is boring, Pawn Stars in Las Vegas this Pawn Shop has a vertural line of museum items coming in his pawn shop, also He has several experts coming into confim if this flintlock pistol is real or replica. and coin experts, singnature experts to confirm if real document which again he knows the hole history when Elvis would have signed this and was before his career took of etc, These experts that he calls his buddy's , Do you think they come down to the shop several dozen times doing this for free, Or do you think the show producers are paying for these experts fees? Also you don't think the tv show produces don't make sure he is brief a head of time about the items the customers are talking on camera in parking lot about this historic item from say French revolution, Also for a pawn shop I never knew so many people bring such rare collectibles to a pawn shop considering these are things of great value upwards 5 to 30 thousand, Nor Las vegas have people with such rare collectibles, last week customer walked in with box with the Royal forgot word but had a crown like impression on the velvet case Which the Bald Head guy of course knew this seal was from the time period of Marie Anntanet, And the crystal looking button back then he said the year when they used lead in base of the crystals and value was around as is 5k if there was proof they where hers, But since there was none and that period of time was several executions and over throw of power the collect set person said well they would take less and son actually said to his father buy if , it is not every day somone walks in with the Royal Seal and they knew that was real, Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the show and find the items very highly unusual up and to ww2 war airplane 300k and model T Ford cars and such. I was just asking that I find it hard to believe that the bald head guy knows the history of everything, , common If thats the case he should go on Jeopardy, He would be the all time shows winner ever on the shows history lol,
