How to hook up PIP on old TV?

How to hook up a LED TV audio signal to an old hifi amplifier? TV audio out is HDMI, amplifier in is RCA.

  • I want to get better sound from my LG 3D TV. I have an old but great hifi Denon amp. The TV Audio out is HDMI, the Amp takes only RCA. There is indeed the earphones mini jack to the amp rca, but the sound qulity is not worth the trouble. Is there a HDMI TO RCA cable that can solve the problem and give good quality sound, ( not hifi) but better than the tv speakers... Any advice is helpful. Thanx in advance Boris

  • Answer:

Do what I just did and get a sound bar. It takes HDMI. (But I got the fiber optic connection). If you can pay for it, it is worth it. This is not the only brand, just what I got.

There should be a white colored outlet, and a red one on the back of the TV. Hook these to the left and right inputs on the amp.

Thank you. There are indeed, but those are in, not out. I guess LG is saving on cost so there are no audio out rca.... This is why I wonder if thee is a HDMI TO RCA CABLE for AUDIO. Cheers, Boris
