why a reduced ring can be embedded into a sum of integral rings?

2 sisters, 2 wedding rings & an engagement ring, who gets what? 1 wedding ring was the grandmothers.

  • My mother recently passed away and I was wondering what the etiquette of passing down her wedding ring, engagement ring and her mothers wedding ring was, I was always of the understanding that the eldest daughter got her wedding ring and the youngest her engagement ring, but who would get her mothers (the grandmothers) wedding ring?

  • Answer:

i think it would have to go into a trust if that was a thing you could things you don't really don't know put it in trust or do you have a relative your close to you might think about that or trust fund

Thanks! It's not something that would require a trust.

Let them pick. They may not even want them.

If your mother did not leave any specifics, then you need to be fair about it. The oldest does not automatically get the wedding ring. If you and your sister cannot work this out, then I suggest this. Draw numbers out of a hat for choice of your mothers rings, and the grandmothers ring could be saved for a granddaughter, or even the stones reset into two new rings - one for each of you.

Or, you could have the grandmothers ring appraised, and one of you could pay the other for half the value and get the ring.

Maybe save it for the first granddaughter? If both sisters want it, maybe the one who wants it the most will have to "buy" it from the other.
