How long can implantation bleeding last?

I have taken multiple morning after pills this month and can't tell whether I have started my period [2weeks ] early or not ever since I learned about implantation bleeding. How long does implantation bleeding typically last and how heavy is the bleeding?

  • Answer:

Implantation bleeding is very light and can be mistaken for an early period. If you think that you might be pregnant, you should take a test to know for sure.

Other answers

Implantation bleeding should only last for one or two days, but every woman is different. Your spotting won't be red but brown or black in color as the blood won't be fresh. It’ll be lighter than a normal period and should happen around the week before you would expect your period. If the blood turns deep red or becomes heavy, speak to your midwife or GP as soon as possible.
