Which is best computer engineering college in india?

Which college is better for Computer Science/ Computer Engineering in India - IIIT Delhi or NSIT?

  • Answer:

NSIT''s USP is its quality of students. The lack of push from the administration and faculty to excel in research and related areas drives students to be self-motivated. In all practicality its absurd, but that is one of the reasons you will find NSITians doing things on their own and even achieving a lot. However, there are some professors on whom NSIT rides. CS department is especially active. Placements : Well you don't need to think twice in that respect. The CS placements at NSIT are indeed one of the best in the nation. If you are looking for research opportunities and a streamlined curriculum, then go for IIIT-D. Having myself worked there as an Undergraduate researcher, I can assure you that the environment is very research oriented and academic with new-age professors looking to excel in their respective fields carrying the students with them. However, if you have an inclination towards the non-technical side then NSIT would without a doubt be the right choice. Its mini-India. It will teach you to be patient, extremely patient and to laugh at your miseries. Manage one event on campus on your own and you will be 'enlightened' of the worldly ways. regards, NSITian

Many people have given fair comparisons. Let me explain a little differently using analogy of movies. NSIT/DTU is like Bajrangi Bhaijaan. It has some great stars (students) giving their best performance, but at the same time the college is a typical college just as the movie was a typical Bollywood film. The college is widely known in India, but has little recognition abroad. IIITD is like The Lunchbox. The college has some great directors and script writers (faculty). It runs in a manner similar to institutions abroad usually not seen in India. It is academically rigorous and expects full faith from its actors ( students) towards the career of acting ( read computer science). There is no room to display stardom (  read options to pursue MBA, IAS etc.)

the college is good i agree with the comments below from director sir to professors and seniors and batch mates every thing is fine if a student wants to learn anything here we get a lot of support here from every one my vote is for iiit-delhi

1) Reputation in industry and abroad NSIT is a well established institute the reputation of a NSIT grad is way more than a IIIT grad 2) Campus IIIT is not yet well established they have just moved in their new campus which really small compared to NSIT campus 3) Fees moreover you have worked so hard to get till here why to spend 2.5 lakhs per annum when you can be done with just 50k at NSIT 4) Course IIIT leaves you no time to pursue your own interests and has a very hard curriculum i have seen many students failing in the first year itself as they could not handle the immense pressure

I’m going anonymous for privacy reasons. Look IIIT-D’s placements are far behind NSIT and DTU. Sure it has a good faculty and ambitious professors but NSIT and DTU are better. No matter how much their professors stress it on Social Media/Open Houses their placements are not better than NSIT/DTU. I talked to a professor of IIIT-D(I won’t name him for the sake of his privacy), even he told me that they exaggerate some things, he accepted that IIIT-D is still nowhere in the league of IIIT Hyderabad and also it’s placements are nowhere in the league of NSIT and DTU’s placements. Make your choice wisely mate. No some IIITians might downvote my answer but it won’t change the fact.IT’s not all sunshine and rainbows like IIITians and their professors talk about. They still have much to achieve. The only people who praise IIIT-Delhi(mostly) are their own professors or IIITians themselves. Even I have to make a choice this year and I’m going to go with DTU or NSIT

IIITD without a question if you are looking to learn . NSIT might have better placements at this point

As a guys who's done research at both places, IIIT-Delhi is way better in a lot of aspects. The interactions one can have with PhDs and professors at IIIT-Delhi is simply amazing, particularly for an engineering school in India. People in IIIT-D are much more inspired to do better things in life. The eclectic areas of study and research further add value in favour of IIIT-Delhi. #NSITian

IIITD is much better than NSIT. NSIT  may be renown more than IIITD because NSIT established before IIITD. Placement is also excellent at IIITD. Student quality is also better in IIITD. You'll get to know the real meaning of education in IIITD because those who just cram can never get seccess in IIITD. IIITD opens your mind by giving good assignments in which you'll need your mind to do and you can't copy other's assignment because of plagiarism system. IIITD faculty is very renown and excellent. They teaches well and understand student's situation. Student have right to request to change for the things which they feel is not worth. Dr. Jalote is best Director because he discuss every new thing which he is about to change in college  with students and if student feel ok then he apply the changes otherwise not.

If computer is your life , IIITD, but if you want to enjoy your life , work hard , make your self multi dimensional , then NSIT is for you . I would go to NSIT back again , whatever the odds . Though , IIITd beats NSIT hands down in faculty and research quality .
