Amaithipadai - The slang used by Sathyaraj, Manivannan is Coimbatore tamil, Suryavamsam - Shot around Coimbatore and has its slang in dialogues. Apart from these two you can refer to any movies in which Sathyaraj and Koundamani acted together like Maman Magal, Nadigan, etc..

For Movies based in COIMBATORE (Inside City): For the Movies based  in and around Coimbatore K.Balachander's Rajinikanth starer Netrikan (early 80's) was a story based in Coimbatore and was shot in Coimbatore except for the climax which was in Nilgiris. That's as close as one can get about Coimbatore in movies. One can see the Echanari temple, KG Hospital, much older Coimbatore Civil Aerodrome, DB Road, old Alankar Hotel etc and lot of imports (then) like Mercedes, VW's etc. Only Goundamani speaks in Kongu tamil but rest is as original as the city.  K. Baghyaraj's  "Indru Poi Naalai Vaa" has a good Coimbatore region accent. There are others (later period) that was shot in Coimbatore like "Ilamai Kaalangal" but most are more filmy. Among the B&W Classics, " Town Bus" (Central Studios),  "Malaikallan" (MGR starrer by Pakshiraja),  "Azaad" (Hindi Sunil Dutt), "Kalyaniyin Kanavan" (Shivaji Ganesan)  were shot in Coimbatore. Also have heard that few Salem Modern Theaters movies in 68-74 period  were shot in Coimbatore. Among the   older classics, "Town Bus" movie has opening shots of few minutes in Race course, Avinashi Road etc. For Movies based around COIMBATORE (Rural): There are too many to say.For movies shot around the scenic parts of  Pollachi you have  "Nattamai", "Vaithehi Kathirundhal", "Chinna Thambi Periya Thambi", "Surya Vamsam"etc. and many more between 80's to mid 90's. Another  notable movie  that was shot in Mettupalayam and Ooty was "Thambiku Entha Ooru" (starring Madhavi & Rajinikanth). Vijay's Coimbatore Mappilai had nothing to do with Coimbatore except for the name. BTW  Sathileelavathy Kamal Hasan's accent  is more a particular community accent that's too exaggerated way which he continued to  annoying levels in Singaravelan. Usually you wont find that stronger accent in Coimbatore city. Maybe rarely at the rural district. And Sarat Kumar has a somewhat better Coimbatore accent tough he is not from Coimbatore. Everyone else just overdo the stuff including Sathyaraj. Director Manivannan's accent is one that  you can encounter in the suburbs and parts of city. *** There are many other movies I have not watched but I bet not all capture the flavour of Coimbatore region. A classic comedy entertainer by K.Bhagyaraj was shot in and around Coimbatore. Some places like Pappanaiken palayam is said and mentioned in the movie.
