What is the most annoying business lingo?

How important is coding now in the business world? Should I try to minor/ take courses in CS? I hope to work in the Silicon Valley in the future. Probably in finance/accounting for now.

    Programming is one of the most high leverage skill that you can invest in. It's like being able to make clones of yourself to get your work done. Don't take programming because you want to just understand the language of Silicon Valley. Learn programming to be automate away the boring bits of your job. As an accounting/finance person, you live by the numbers. This is perfect. Computers rock at manipulating numbers. If you're using Excel to do simple things like average columns, then learning to program will be a quantum leap in your abilities to write macros. Seriously, you will run circles around people who havn't studied programming formally. Convince yourself that learning the rudimentary of programming is worthwhile. Then go do it. Without a burning, emotional passion for learning, your time and energy will go to waste. As gravy, you'll know what you're talking about when talking tech with engineers. What's to lose? That underwater basket weaving elective?

Understanding how applications are assembled will never hurt you.  In fact, compared to many electives, I'd say it's an excellent choice.  Even in finance/accounting you may be writing macros or customizing things in your ERP system from time to time.
