Looking to teach a class about connectivity, and I want to provide a fictional story with plot revolving around communicating. The modes of communication don't matter really. I just want a story that focuses specifically on this theme.

Answer:
Ahhh! 84, Charing Cross Road is a delightful book about an American lady in New York corresponding with a bookseller in London during World War II. It's a very sweet story and I enjoy it immensely every time I read it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/84_Charing_Cross_Road_%28film%29
