Is it better to focus on competitive programming, or developemental programming from a career point of view?
-
In my mind, competitive programming is solving questions on online coding sites, like spoj, topcoder, and developemental programming is building websites, mobile apps, windows software, etc(Do correct me if I'm wrong). I'm more interested in developing software. I was wondering if I should focus on competitive programming instead.
-
Answer:
Definitely developmental programming. Competitive programming is artificially constrained and does not include many of the complexities of real software development.
