How can i create typography?

Typography: Would I have any issues if I want to use free fonts like Roboto or Quicksand to create a commercial logo or make profit out of them?

  Always check the license. They are easily found with the downloaded fonts or on the site from which you are downloading. It took me 30 seconds to find this info: Roboto was released under the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apache_License which “allows the user of the software the freedom to use the software for any purpose”. Quicksand was released under the http://www.fontsquirrel.com/license/Quicksand which “allows the licensed fonts to be used, studied, modified and redistributed freely as long as they are not sold by themselves”. The real danger, in my opinion, with creating a logo using Quicksand or Roboto is that your work might not be considered professional, as neither typeface is very good. Even if you disagree with that subjective judgment, both font families are obviously free and widely available, thus cheapening your product and greatly reducing the chances it will be considered original or distinctive. Yes, it’s possible to make a good logo using free fonts, but it doesn’t happen very often.
