Is a Dream Journal helpful?

How it feels to see a dream into a dream and you come out of second dream and found you are not in your control  without realizing that you are still in first dream (dream into a dream)?

  • Answer:

Based on the way the current question is structured - I would really love to ask what pot you were smoking or what pills are you using?=) Jokes aside: So you are asking how does it feel to have a dream within a dream. The answer is - it is highly unlikely, that you will ever have one... I can't remember having one. You see when you are dreaming - your brain is refining the information it received during the day. And during this process - random stuff is being mixed together to produce an image of whats happening with you at this time. If you will be working like crazy - you will probably dream about work or work related stuff. A dream is a state of calm and you only dream about things you think about a lot, you know the stuff thats bothering you. If sleep bothers you than you probably don't sleep, hence you can't dream about it. If you want to test whether you sleep or not - look at inception movie=) They describe pretty well how to test whether you are in a dream or not.

Well I have experienced two layers of dreams a lot of times (long before movie inception was released). It actually depends on what kind of dream you had. Well I was having a dream and I discovered something revolutionizing  I was happy that this thing was going to change the lives of millions across the globe. The feeling was very persistent. Then suddenly I woke up. I knew what I dreamt was complex and at once I started writing what I experienced, what I discovered. I was writing very fast. In the middle of it I realized that this is also another layer of dream. I started writing  very fast and kept speaking aloud what I wrote. Despite all the efforts I woke up and the feeling of utter despair swayed over me. I felt very bad of that feeling getting lost so soon. Frustrating.

I have dreamed that I was dreaming about the same story of the dream (ie, waking up, going to sleep the next day and continuing the story) for a few days. At some points I would recognize similarities between the story sequences and attempt to change the events to my advantage. It was the freakiest kind of deja vu. Then I woke up from the inner dream and thought "Wow! Now I can just control my dreams. I can't wait to drive to school, go back home, finish my homework, go to sleep, and dream about the hottest girl in the world who will have whatever kind of sex I want with me!" Then I thought, "Man that sounds too good to be true. And since when did I have a license? Oh shit..." And then, despite my best efforts, I slowly actually regained consciousness. My mom drove me to school that day. I was a bit quiet in the car.
