What all small gifts can I send to one of my best friend's birthday in USA from India?

  • One of my best freinds got married 6 months back in November in India and is now settled in Texas, USA with her hubby. Its her Birthday on 6th November and I want to send a huge package to her on her special day. This is her first birthday away from her home (India) and I want to make it very special. Please suggest some great ideas(gifts) which I can send her. I want to include many small gifts in a huge package. Also on 22nd November its her 1st wedding anniversary, so any ideas about that too will do. I know i still have 5 months, but i want to start the shopping right now. And FYI, she will turn 24 this year.

    I suspect this answer is a bit belated, but perhaps it will help someone else, or help you with gifts for next year. Regarding the anon answer already on this page, I'd be cautious of foods. You can try sending them, but you might want to choose wisely. Certainly avoid anything perishable, or U.S. customs could derail your gift. Instead, I would suggest you ask her and her husband what they are missing about India. I don't think of Texas as the sort of multicultural place where there's likely to be an Indian market down the way. (Here in Silicon Valley, they'd have a pretty good variety of shops to choose from.)
