Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering: Due to lack of opportunities,i would like to go abroad for a foreign degree. I have an integrated degree 5yr(btech+mtech). Are my Phd options limited? how practical is it for me to pursue an MS after Mtech? will it be a + or - for my profile?

  • Btech Aerospace + Mtech Avionics from (not an IIT). Would like to pursue Phd in satellite communications.

  • Answer:

MS anyways has limited funding options. Mostly, in Germany (no tuition) and Canada (RA ships). You can pursue MS even after Dual degree, provided you can justify with very good well-thought reasons. Otherwise, best is to try for go for Phd in US, Canada or Australia. Phds are almost always funded with hefty amount and you won't even know when time flies abroad, as there is excellent work-life balance culture. Phd in UK takes just 3 years (nearly MS) but funding is very few, so best is to try Common wealth Scholarship through HRD ministry. The applications form floats around September.
