What are some famous buildings with unusual architectural designs?

Who designs the buildings at your Architecture firm? How is it designed?

  • When you get fairly big project, like an office building, who starts designing the building? Do you build experimental physical models or just work in 2D or digital 2D programs? Is there usually a lead designer architect who designs most projects, and the rest of the architects carry out on that design?

  • Answer:

I work in a 10-people firm. We mostly design retail stores, and apartment reforms... I am an employee, one of the "senior" ones compared to the rest... But our bosses tend to give each assignment to a lead person that will be in charge of it from the early stages to the end... and they supervise those assignments and are in charge of finances and direct contact with clients... we receive feeds from those meeting and translate that into the project... I personally work with plans on autocad (revit is not so popular here yet) and 3D models on sketchup+Vray. Youger students/Architects receive smaller or easier assignments and viceversa...
