Why are the painters or the architects who actually built the monuments in India were not given due importance? (one of several egs, the design for Taj Mahal was given by Lahauri (correct me if I am wrong here), but its almost always stated as Shah Jahan built it)

It is simple - I am a builder and designer and you want me to build building to you and you paid me the design cost you paid the land cost, cost of material etc. And at the end the building has finished very beautifully and shall I say that it is my building? Or Sowmya;s Building . You are the owner and you have great heart to accept my design.
