Those things you hear of CNTs are almost singularly results reported from the depths of some single lab were resources are far more ample by virtue of being at such small scales of production. Next steps in research would need to find ways to fabricate CNTs with a high degree of homogeneity and via an economically feasible production route that can be viably scaled to larger outputes. In the end, it will still be a long time before CNTs make their way into the bulk of commercial manufacturing.
