If Google is so big on ChromeBooks, shouldn't they build Android Studio for the web?

Answer:
Android Studio is built from IntelliJ, which is built in Java and would be incompatible with Chrome. Chrome has just had the concept of "packaged apps" introduced, which would be the type of app Android Studio would be if it was built for Chrome. The packaged app concept would have still been in development at the same time Android Studio was, so it wouldn't have been possible to build it for Chrome at the time. Also, I don't believe you can connect Android devices (to use ADB and other features) to Chromebooks currently; another obstacle that needs to be overcome.
