What is the national governing body for athletics?

Every job has a governing body which decides the parameters an testing standards for the selection of an applicant. Shouldn't be there such a governing body to appoint POLITICIANS?

• An applicant has to go through tough times while preparing, applying for a particular job; be it Government job or Private job. The whole idea behind this screening process is to Filter the best among the lot and the testing standards are decided by some higher officials of that particular organisation. In the long run those officials are governed by the Constitution of India which is altered, modified by our politicians. So, eventually it turns out that our politicians decide which applicant to appoint. But, the irony is there is no such body which decides whom to appoint as a politician. Shouldn't there be an autonomous body in place which could screen out applicants which in later stage prove to be a disgrace to the society. If formed,  this body could also keep a continuous watch of the acts of the present politicians and could suspend them after an act of misconduct. Similar to a police officer who is suspended from his/her duty after any act of misconduct.......

  Oh but there is. It may be called ' The General Body'. A body of which we all are a member of. But, unfortunately it as dysfunctional as the other governing bodies.
