What is the strategy behind RIM's new BlackBerry Music Service?

With the existing incumbents, RIM not doing very well in its core business, I wonder what is the strategy and thinking behind RIM going after a music service.

The strategy is to drive more social experiences via BBM, making users more dependent on the BBM social aspects of BlackBerry resulting in returning customers, customer recommendations to friends which should lead to increased BlackBerry adoption and sales.
