What is a/the minimum required horsepower I'd need (video/graphics card / cpu / etc.) to drive dual monitors: two Dell UltraSharp U3011 30" (resolution: 2560x1600)?

Note: the monitors are not for gaming, but for more real estate for web, email, programming sessions over vpn/vnc. They'll be driven by a new desktop computer I plan to purchase. Do you have any input on using HDMI versus another connection type? Forgetting about minimum horsepower, what would you suggest as a good complement to them in terms of a desktop computer?

Bare minimum: gtx 660 should do (2gb vram). Cpu:core i5. Gaming:gtx780/760 sli should do ok. core i7. Note:Although some lower end models can do the trick (For text, web pages), extra vram and a strong gpu are essential for displayintensive stuff like hd video decoding, gamin etc. given you are going to use two monitors, I assume that you will be running quite a few applications parallelly. Therefore, I suggest a good CPU
