What is advertising campaigns?

Ad Operations: What is the best way to track all campaigns in a large advertising agency  in order to be alerted when campaigns are ending?

    That really depends on what ad server you use and where your data currently resides. I think excel is great because it can be incorporated regardless of what system you use. Conditional formatting is easy enough for most beginners. You can customize email alerts if you're a bit more advanced. Google spreadsheets has many functions and tools you can utilize that aren't easily replicated in excel.  Some of the said tools are email capabilities and calendar synching.  The downside is the latency issues and limit on data input. There are ways in salesforce to send alerts, but you need someone that's really knowledgable to make it happen. Give their customer service a shot.

Most agencies use adservers like Atlas or DCM (previously known as DFA - Double Click for Advertisers or Doubleclick Campaign Manager). They have settings that will allow you to set flight dates for your campaigns and associated alerts, in addition to integrating with other products within the ad stack.

I think Diego may have meant DFA, Doubleclick for Advertisers. There are a number of vendors that offer a similar service, AdGear comes to mind as well. Since this question was categorized under Ad Ops - if you are managing the campaigns yourself, your DSP may have built in alert options as well. Hope that helps!

You should use DFP, even the Small Business solution ir really good for tracking, otherwise, Outlook reminders!
