Is Lasik safe and does it work?

How does bladeless lasik work?

  • Answer:

Bladeless LASIK uses a laser instead of a razor blade to make the corneal flap which is the first step in the LASIK procedure. The razor cuts a thin layer of the cornea which is folded back to allow the second laser, and excimer laser, to reshape the eye. In the bladeless variation, there are up to millions of tiny perforations precisely made at an exact depth into the cornea that in combination results in a separation of the outer layer of the cornea. The bladeless approach uses a more expensive laser than the blade method but it is safer, more precise, and some studies show that the results are even better.
